My microphone isn't working

Check your browser permissions — make sure fluente.ai has access to your microphone. Try refreshing the page or using a different browser.

Troubleshooting tips

Microphone not working

  1. Check your browser has permission to access your microphone
  2. Try a different browser (Chrome works best)
  3. Close other apps that might be using your mic (Zoom, Teams)
  4. Test your mic at onlinemictest.com

Audio not playing

  1. Check your device volume and speaker settings
  2. Make sure your browser tab is not muted (look for a speaker icon)
  3. Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache
  4. Disable browser extensions that might block audio

Slow or laggy sessions

  1. Check your internet connection speed (10+ Mbps recommended)
  2. Close unnecessary browser tabs
  3. Use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi if possible
  4. Disable VPN — it can add latency to voice sessions

Speech not recognised

  1. Speak clearly and at a normal pace
  2. Reduce background noise (use a headset if possible)
  3. Make sure you're speaking in the correct teaching language
  4. Check that your mic input level is not too low
